Acne Skin Care For Everyone
Anyone that suffers with acne (Zits) may feel as if they spend most of their time searching for remedies, but things are gradually improving for sufferers. A great deal of money is being spent researching the condition, now, some of these skin conditions are gradually being conquered. Acne skin care products all fall into one of three main categories:
- Preventive
- Those available at a drugstore or over-the-counter
- Prescription: Issued for specialized medication from a doctor etc.
Probably the largest part of the skin care market is products that are designed to clean and protect the skin from acne occurring, like skin cleansers. We should all use products like this to maintain our skin and prevent future problems from occurring.
Other acne skin care products like skin cleansers are more specific about their job, they ensure the facial pores (and other areas) remain free of oil. Excess oil needs to be stopped from clogging the pores as this oil make it easier for bacteria to grow, exacerbating the condition.
Other skin care treatments can help exfoliate the skin and are easily obtainable in any drug store. This type of peel helps reduce the chance of oil clogging up the pores as well as removing other skin impurities, this can reduce the bacterium growth on your skin.
Many other acne skin care products have become available over the counter and on the internet, they don’t usually require a prescription. Products that can remove the pore clogging oil contain the ingredient benzoyl peroxide, these include creams, cleansers and peels that slow down acne formation.
Although benzoyl peroxide works well, it is possible you may have a reaction, it is suggested that any benzoyl peroxide skin care product should not contain the active ingredient at more than 5.5 percent. It is not always possible to find an acne skin care product that works first time. You may need to try a few but if none of them seem to be working then you would be advised to contact your skin specialist.
Only doctors or skin care specialists can prescribe some medications, including the use of antibiotics and certain ointments. Your doctor can recommend that in order to extract the contents of the pustules that a small surgical procedure could be carried out. Some specialists recommend the sufferer never tries doing this on their own as it can cause permanent skin damage.
Another effective course of skin care treatment is hormone therapy, hormone changes are know to be one cause of acne. There is no longer any reason to despair if you have this skin complaint or are prone to its effects. Science has produced many effective treatments for this unkind condition.
